Account Manager: PR

We're looking for new PR Account Managers at all levels (from Junior to Senior).

We’re looking for Public Relations Account Managers to join our growing PR team and award-winning marketing agency in Histon, Cambridge, UK.

As a member of a bustling, progressive marketing agency you will have access to a broad array of expertise to further build your science communications and PR skill set. A background in science (either BSc, MSc or PhD) would be preferable, but a passion for marketing and communications is essential. 

Skills required

This full-time role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step in their life within an agency, with a particular interest in commercial story-telling and public relations. Ideally, you would:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience working in a PR or marketing agency (those with 2+ years of experience will be suitable for a Junior Account Manager Role, while those with 4+ years would be a good fit for a Senior Account Manager role).
  • Have a life science degree (BSc) e.g. biology, biotechnology, chemistry etc. (preferred but not essential) 
  • Have exceptional organisational and time-management skills
  • Have exceptional written and spoken English
  • Be comfortable conducting daily email and phone communications with clients
  • Have a strong eye for detail
  • Be a self-starter and strong problem solver
  • Be a confident team player
  • Have an interest in developing the skills required to become a public relations consultant in the life science sector

What the role entails

You will work across a number of different executional activities, whilst learning how to build strategic communications programmes and comprehensive PR plans that cover everything from thought leadership content to new product launch initiatives. Tasks will include:

  • PR planning and strategy development, including media planning
  • Press release writing
  • Brainstorming, briefing and managing writing and other PR projects
  • Story pitching and managing editorial placements
  • Interview set up and management
  • Press conference outreach and set up
  • Social media planning, research, and execution
  • Day-to-day client liaison and relationship management
  • Project management
  • Tracking programme metrics and reporting

Location and Salary

  • Location: Our head office is in Cambridge, UK (but remote and hybrid options are also available)
  • Salary: Our salaries are very competitive based on salaries in the UK. We also a wide range of benefits and an attractive bonus scheme:
    • Account manager salary band: £33k-£38k
    • Senior account manager salary band: £38k-48k
